Sometimes, spiritual growth requires a change in your surroundings.
I had to realize that I needed a sober mind not just physically, but spiritually and mentally. I couldn’t continue surrounding myself with people who were intoxicated, distracted, or living in ways that were no longer aligned with the direction God was taking me.
In order for me to grow spiritually, I had to honestly examine my surroundings, my relationships, and the things I was allowing into my spirit. And yes, my circle has gotten smaller. But you know what? I’m okay with that.
Everybody cannot go where God is taking you. Sometimes God has to remove certain people, places, and distractions so you can hear Him clearly.
I’m learning that being alone is not the same as being lonely. When you have God, you have everything you need.
I don’t need a crowd. I don’t need everyone’s approval. I don’t need anyone to validate the path God has placed me on.
As long as I have God in my life, I know I will be okay.
My circle may be smaller, but my faith is stronger, my mind is clearer, and my spirit is growing.
I choose God. I choose peace. I choose purpose. And I’m not afraid to walk away from anything that keeps me from becoming who God called me to be.
🙏🏽 Sometimes losing people is actually God making room for your growth.
